First Trip from Ft Meyers to Stuart Through the Locks

We have a 27' Monterey bow rider with a single 350 Merc. Planning to leave Sarasota on May 22 heading to Cape Coral then Roland Martin then to Stuart Fl.
This is our first time through the 5 locks and a bit nervous.
Any advise from your experience that will keep us floating and safe would be greatly appreciated!!
(We will be sleeping on board at various ports using a vented/screened cover)

Have good fenders and use old but strong mooring lines. Some locks have lines for your use. The lines will get dirty, so use older ones..

I'm used to locks as I once worked commercial; when I went thru with friends they were nervous. After the first lock it was no problem.

Just follow directions from the lock masters..

Some of the locks only drop/rise a foot or two, really not much effort at all to motor in and grab the lines hanging off the wall.
