Haul / Storage Cost - Gulf Coast ?

Hi Gang,

New to the site, but not new to boats or boatbuilding. I hve a 80' x 18' aluminum yacht I need to haul out and store for some time (about 6 months) somewhere in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico area. I am trying to find out what rates people charge for haul out/launch and what it costs for dryland storage. Any numbers would help and locations too.

Thanks,

Jim

Haul - Storage Cost Gulf Coast

I am also a newbie to this site. I just had my boat hauled in SW Florida after a fairly comprehensive hunt in that area. The best place I found is Glades Boat yard. It's about 40 miles from Fort Myers up the Caloosahatchee River. $4.50 a foot, about half of what is charged in Ft. Myers. I can't recall the haul/launch fee but it's reasonable. They will pressure wash if you want. Storage only, no slips, but there is a DIY yard for $17/day. Great hurricane hole, very secure in the middle of nowhere where the thieves can't find it.

You might try House of Boats in Rockport, but you might be too big.

Also, Northshore in Ingleside.

There is a marina in Palacous Tx you could contact that has exactly what your looking for. They have the lift, the space and it would be cheep to store. Just check online for some phone numbers and photos.

If the OP has a sailboat, then keep in mind that there are a couple 55 foot bridges between Ft. Myers and Glades. You should be able to find a yard to unstep the mast in the Ft. Myers area. Indiantown Marina is another 50 miles or so east of Glades and has the same sort of set up. Their website has detailed rate information. They both specialize in long term storage on the hard. We went by there a couple months ago and there were hundreds of boats stored in both yards.
