Help identify this helm

I am restoring this '87 Chris Craft and I am trying to identify this helm.

What I do know is it requires Seastar Fluid and the fill cap looks like it has a Teleflex logo on it. It does say Made in Canada and 1986.

But there is no other identifiers as to the model.

It is connected to a Seastar BA135-7BJ cylinder.

I have researched seastar and I can not find anything that looks like it.

Re: Help identify this helm

Rear shows MADE IN CANADA so contact some Candadian distributors and see if they have an old timer who may remember.

Does it still work well?

Re: Help identify this helm

Did you send Seastar a photo? Even though they are a US company, would try that. SeaStar Solutions

Also they probably know their competition well enough to identify it if it isn't theirs.

A couple of other routes is to match up a new Seastar helm pump to the cylinder if the other one is shot. The other route is to "rebuilt" the existing pump which is usually just replacing the o-rings. If you have a good o-ring/hydraulic store near you they can easily match them and you cut new gaskets, done.

Re: Help identify this helm

Looks like a Wagner 701 helm pump. If it is I have a pdf on installation, but the file size is too big for Cruisers. Probably still available from Wagner.
