I have come across some fairly decent houseboat manufacturers in Europe.

A lot of the time they are using PE floats as catamarans for a hull as they are quite cheap yet effective. Other times they like to use good old steal.

Roof terrace is often standard and they come with small outboard engines. In the summer months the lakes are full with houseboats here in Germany even really small ones and a lot of charter business as well.


Are they any similar manufacturers in North America of these type of boats?
Can you show some pictures or share some links?

Interesting - those look like modern versions of the houseboats we see around here (Thousand Islands, Rideau Canal, lots of little lakes). But I have no idea who, if anyone, builds them. Considering that most I see look like they're 20 or 30 years old, maybe they're just not built any more.

Anybody more knowledgeable care to comment?
