I Am coming down the East Coast from NYC to Florida. Need float plan...

I just bought a 36' Carver that I am bringing down under it's own way. I need a Float plan was wondering if anyone has a good guide and suggestions. I was having a couple friends to come along but they bailed out last minute. I hope I can meet someone on forum that has suggestions or might have a interest in taking the trip. I am a retired Army Veteran. When I was in Iraq I told myself if I made it home I would have myself a yacht. Any help would be greatly appericated. I wanted to mention I got the boat with my foundation in mind. Providers of Freedom a organization that will help out wounded warriors that is coming out the hospital. And their family's to have some down time. We also help out with bills and other issues. The reason I brought it up God has made a way for me to do something with the rest of my life!

First step, buy charts and guides. I assume you do know about the ICW? Many guide books to help you on the ICW. The Waterway Guide is excellent and the one I used in addition to Skipper Bob's guides.

Want to do a little online preplaning, several web sites have online charts, guides to marinas, etc.

Welcome aboard the CF, USSoldier! If you have any questions about Waterway Guides or Skipper Bob Guides, I'm happy to help. Good luck with your plan, and thank you for your service to our country and your fellow vets.

Why am I not buying this? Maybe I'm just a cheap cynic.

Given what you'd like to do for veterans, you should look up the Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) foundation.

"Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to making the thrill of sailing a reality for physically and/or developmentally-challenged individuals and for those individuals whose financial circumstances preclude their participation in recreation on the waters of Chesapeake Bay. CRAB was founded in 1991 as an offshoot of the National Ocean Access Project of Newport, Rhode Island."

Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating

I'm sure you could talk to someone there who could give you all kinds of advice about making your vision a reality.

Buying what? Nobody is selling anything. I know there is a lot of phony people online but I wasn't asking for nothing other that advice so why are you chimming in with some skepticism if you truely feel like that and your advise is so valuable why not email and verify before you suggest or advise. Keep it moving if you have a problem.

I am very grateful for everyone's suggestions. I myself have limitations and may not be able to respond right away or directly. But thank you and God bless.

Yeah I hope to do the "Great Loop" one day. I heard about it I never knew it was possible. I was at the Patrick Air Force Base Marina when I heard about it.

Thanks Brother for your service and offer. Do you live in NY or Florida. I don't plan on racing down to florida.
