St. Augustine Inlet

There is considerable shoaling. However, if you cheat the Reds you can get in an out safely. Last week was my fist passage, and going out was a little tricky, but again... cheat the reds and look for the rocks starboard leaving.

Peace,

Re: St. Augustine Inlet

I always like to hear about current local knowledge, but this might not communicate well. Others might understand, but I don't know what it means to "cheat the reds". I did notice that there was a dredge operating in the inlet a couple of weeks ago. Are they still there? Have they improved the inlet significantly? ......anyway, what path are you describing when your are "cheating the reds"?

Re: St. Augustine Inlet

I apologize for the cryptic comment. I simply meant to favor the red markers exiting the inlet. They are still dredging, and I don't have near enough experience to comment on past conditions. I saw 6 feet (and closing) before I went towards the (I wish I could remember the numbers) first of the last two reds before the STA marker (exiting the inlet). The green is hard to find and too close to the rocks for any comfort.

I hope this helps, and again apologize if my first message was too "rookie"...

Peace,
