Starting alarm wont turn off

This sounds much more likely to be the alarm that indicates the alternator is not charging the battery. It is a bit like the red charging light on a car not extinguishing and the circuit is usually linked to the rotor electromagnet excitation.
On my boat if the solar panels output is too high it competes with the alternator and the alarm continues to sound after the engine starts. The solution is to unplug the solar circuit.

Could it be the high water temp alarm ? I had that happen with a bad sensor on a Volvo diesel.

Thanks for the reply but the alarm turned out to be a low fluid level. Any idea why my electric toilet button stops working from time to time before resuming?

Some electric motors have a thermal circuit breaker in them.
If they overload & overheat, they turn off til' the motor cools down.

Clogged hoses or corroded connections could cause this issue.

It also trips the refrigerator breaker that I have to reset.

Check all those connections on any appliance/motor that is tripping a breaker. Make sure they a corrosion free, clean and tight.

It could be the positive but is usually a bad ground that causes overheating of the conductor.

Some generics don't work on all engines. On my Volvo TAMDs these alarm switches seem to cost a fortune. Any one know of an alternative?

Had the same issue once on my 2011 Gemini Cat. Alarm turned off sometimes, stayed on other times then quit. Finally settled into never shut off.
Solution:
Found loose connector at oil pressure sensor on engine. Was bouncing around due to engine movement, sometimes contacting, other times not. Finally just came completely loose and swung away from sensor. Thus no shut off.
The connector boot hid the "loose" condition yet kept the connector close enough that engine movement could cause intermittent contact.
Check your connections by physically pushing/pulling connectors. I have even had what looked like good connections come apart when pulled slightly.
Good luck finding the culprit.
