Surveyors and owners: Comparing models

Happy Thanksgiving!

We know there are at least a couple of surveyors that hang out here and perhaps there might even be a few current or past owners of the models below. We are gathering information about our next boat and have narrowed it down to there four models:
  1. Sea Ray 480 Sedan Bridge
  2. Cruisers 4450 Aft Cabin
  3. Carver 466 Aft Cabin
  4. Carver 450 Voyager Pilothouse

They're two very different styles of boats: Aft cabin vs cockpit. Both have advantages. Our Chris Craft was an aft cabin and we did get kind of tired of going up and down either a ladder or external stairs but we loved the roominess.

Yes, they're classed as Class B boats, meaning coastal cruising. That's what we do so that part is a good fit. Our budget puts us looking at 1999 to 2005ish models. We're not interested in Hatteras or Viking.

Carver has solid hulls below the waterline. Cruisers Yachts and Sea Ray have cored hulls. Cored hulls concern us due to the possibility of water intrusion but there are so many of the 480s and the 4450s out there that we can't believe they would all have blisters big enough to allow wet cores.

Has anyone surveyed any of these four models? Or does anyone currently own or have previously owned any of the four? We would appreciate any feedback on significant findings, common issues, red flags, etc.

Thanks for any info anyone has. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend.

John
