Trent-Severn Waterway - Severn River

Hi

I am thinking of touring the Trent-Severn Waterway between Lake Simcoe and Big Chute, starting out at Jackson's Point. I own a 20' bowrider with a 5.0L Mercruiser Inboard/Outboard. I have a number of questions.

1. My plan is to cross Lake Simcoe to Big Bay Point and then proceed up the west side of the lake to the Atherley Narrows to avoid large waves. Are there any navigation hazards I should be aware of?

2. I would like to find a place around Sparrow Lake to dock my boat and spend the night (not camp). Any suggestions

All advice is appreciated.
