Vivid anti fouling , 35 days - green slime all over boat ????????

This is a follow up too my post of 2 months ago ,what too expect
going from stack into a wet slip
Heeding wife / family / some on this forum
I let the marina paint bottom of a 30 ft cruiser .
Boat never painted needed sanding , barrier , anti fouling.
If I decide too move boat leaving on trailer few months , marina recommended Vivid a soft anti fouling .
Designed for wet / dry not effecting anti fouling agents

Boat in a wet slip around 35 days
Used multiple days every week
Green slime at water line coming off easy along with a light film of the blue anti fouling?
Sent a text too Pettit Vivid mfg, asking if its normal for a
blue film too come off ? YES its normal. Asked about green slime at water
line , no answer ,
I am in Daytona , wanted too pull boat from Dorian , trailering inland
Could not believe what I saw , ENTIRE boat had a film of green ,
hull , drives , Came off easy with power washer but concerning
Vivid anti fouling advertises stops slime

I have stern drives , Volvo Penta , Marina painted drives with the Vivid ,
Its recommended for drives since it has no copper ,
Cant see while in water but out of water blue drives look like crap
Don't know how well they prepared drives or just slapped a coat of
anti fouling over the Volvo Penta grey paint , or even prepared ,
This is why I try too do most of my own work , Hope I don't have
too redo what I paid extra fees for drives , Marina painter was bitching
its a lot more labor ,
On a similar twin stern drive the drives were painted black with a ruff
surface like pop corn on ceilings. ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THAT WAS ?

I had plans on painting bellows and all areas behind drives best I can and pulling boat was perfect time ,
Props are stainless , could not believe the amount of barnacle growth
within 35 days
What would you folks recommend for preparing behind drives and all around
As far as slime I will take that up with Vivid , waiting for another answer
thanks as usual

1.- Pettit Vivid does contain copper. Nonetheless, it is safe for use on aluminum.

2.- Not sure why you think it is going to eliminate fouling completely. That is an unreasonable assumption to make for any copper-based anti fouling paint.

Any or maybe it’s better to say that all bottom paints that I am aware of require monthly cleaning.
What you need to do is hang something substantial in the water beside of your boat, maybe a decently large piece of PVC pipe or something, let it hang.
Then after a couple of months you will get a very good appreciation of how effective your bottom paint is.
If you took the boat out and got it on plane every few days and stayed on plane for significant times, then maybe a hard paint would be better, I assume however it mostly sits and that is why they recommended a soft ablative paint.

Even the old paint with chemicals that have been outlawed got slime on it, it’s the hard stuff that requires scraping that your trying to prevent, slime that wipes off is going to happen with any paint.
If I remember right several members told you that you really, really don’t want to wet store an I/O powered boat. If that was someone else I apologize, but you really shouldn’t wet store an I/O. I can almost promise you that you won’t be happy with the result.

Oh and without the paint, your whole bottom would be just like those props were.

Life is tenacious. Especially in a marine environment. By tenacious I mean it's hard to stop it from reproducing. Like grass in concrete sidewalk cracks. What you just described about your bottom condition sounds pretty normal to me. You have to wipe/scrub that slime off on a regular basis. Bottom growth builds up in layers and where the sunshine hits it is where you will see the most growth. Keep it clean with regular wipe-downs and you should be good to go. If you fail to do regular wipe-downs harder growth will attach itself to the slime and work its' way through the paint via mother nature's plan for perpetuity for her creatures. They're adapted to do that.

I used Vivid a number of years ago. Twice, had it applied professionally. Without a doubt, it was the worst bottom paint I ever used. I complained to the manufacturer after my first experience. They sent their rep to inspect bottom and instructed boat yard in application the following year. Like your situation, the paint was going bad almost immediately. And the manufacturer made no effort to remedy the situation. Now using Trinidad 75. Present bottom is more than two years old and my diver says it is in fine shape. For what it's worth, I'm also in Daytona.

FOLLOW UP
I did get a response from Pettit manufacture of Vivid
They said expect green slime , Light rubbing and it should come
off , Which it did ,
Then why run add , Prevents green slime ? and I am learning lots
of variables, water temp , location , quality of paint etc

Going from dry rack into a wet slip is nice , presents new challenges ,
such as dealing with bottom paint

Pulling boat had a duel purpose ,
Getting out of Dorians path also drive service
Having a trailer for a 30 footer is nice , Royal pain getting around
and bit big too trailer as often as I use myself , but nice not being tied down ,

While out plan was too power wash bottom , Along water line green slime
was thick , under hull was a light film of green slime . plus drives
When the shop pulled painters did nothing in way of prep on drives ,
Just painted around everything
They will be doing a proper job ( I hope )
I do have a call too previous marina , regarding paying extra 5 hundred
dollars too paint drives , the level of inferior work the
crew preformed ( lack of ) a coat of Vivid over the Volvo Penta grey

Don't know how long Vivid is going too last
Can I use a different brand going over the vivid ?
