We did it!

Thank you everyone for putting up with what probably seemed like an endless stream of naive questions. ;-)

This morning, we took a highly-respected marine surveyor with us to see the 42' Chris-craft again. He brought along Soldboat reports, gave it a decent look-see, and said he felt it was in excellent or "Bristol" condition. He said he was going to provide a letter (which he did a few hours later) stating the fair market value. I negotiated with the broker, who is also the owner, and we settled on a price that was a couple thousand less than FMV. The surveyor will be coming back on the 13th for a full condition and valuation report and a mechanic is coming to do a complete engine survey. Closing in a month.

We're very excited!!
