Look at the deck space and flybridge and cockpit for entertaining and lounging.

Before 2006 the similar model was a 43 foot boat. Still nice.
Thank you for the information...
I will certainly check it out

Re: What cruiser fo the Florida Gulf?

Surprised no one has mentioned the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Starts November 3rd through the 7th. I think once you attend a show like that you will see that there so many choices you will have a difficult time narrowing it down. Unlike cars and RVs, there are so many different variety of boats that are designed for different wants/needs.

Also, you mentioned no bridge access in Marco Island, which probably means you are in Smokehouse Bay, Collier Bay or Factory Bay. The water there is pretty skinny so you will most likely need a boat with a shallow draft. Just one more thing on the list to consider..........

Actually other than your sarcasm, I have received some very good advice from others.
Using this advice, I did some more research and
am pursuing checking out a new ArrowCat 42 Flybridge Catamaran.... As being in south Florida, we will be taking trips to surrounding islands and to the shallow waters around the keys. This Cat from the video's and reviews I have seen online seems to fit our needs and is definitely worth pursuing.

That was absolutely not meant as sarcasm, and sorry you interpreted it that way.

Just meant that you're asking people who have no idea about your tastes, your mission, the requirements that would flow from that mission... to pick a boat out of thin air.

There are probably hundreds of brands/models that could suit... depending.

If I had answered based on what I would pick... as many do, in forums like this... there's about a 99% chance my suggestion would be wrong.

Just though you'd get better answers if you gave everyone a bit more info to work with.

I didn't see anything in your posts to suggest a cat might be the answer, but glad to hear what was essentially a shot in the dark might be working out for you.

Re: What cruiser fo the Florida Gulf?

Thank you for the heads up on the upcoming boat show.
Yes, off of Collier Bay is where we will be. Also thank you on the draft situation. I am concentrating on checking out different catamarans for that reason along with their stability in rough water.

Re: What cruiser fo the Florida Gulf?

It's been a few years since I cruised around Marco Island, but it seems to me there is/was a big to-do on Thursday nights down at the Esplanade. Bands set-up at CJ's and every snowbird from town in attendance........

Good luck on your boat search.

Re: What cruiser fo the Florida Gulf?

We have a Leopard PowerCat in Cape Coral. Maybe look at their new 43 PowerCat or even the 51. My problem with the Lagoon power is it's really just a sailboat with no mast. That helm is 100% sailboat. The Leopards have huge patio-sized flybridges ideal for SW Florida.

Re: What cruiser fo the Florida Gulf?

From all that I'd say there are just two lines for you to draw in the sand: Shallow draft, and diesel. Naples/Key West means you'll save yourself a lot of problems if you can keep it to a 4 foot draft, and diesels because inboard gasoline engines are in the long term expensive to maintain and dangerous. Those cats being proposed could be palaces for you.
