Anyone Offering Private Sailing Lessons in L.A.?

Hello All,

I would like to see if anyone is offering private sailing lessons in the Los Angeles area.

I'm a novice sailor, sailing only about a dozen times or so, usually assisting the captain and/or friends. Have sailed from 24' - 41' sloop vessels.

I am NOT looking for any ASA, US Sailing, or any certification course. Since my finances are limited. I just want some 'hands on' time, for a resonable cost.

Please email me, wisenomad@hotmail.com
Thanks.

The folks at Bluewater in Marina Del Rey are pretty laid back. I am sure you could get private lessons. They make mistakes (double booked our last charter) but I like a little chaos and disorganization and they seem like nice people so far.

Last time I was there they were running a classroom session basically in the parking lot.

I was looking at Marina Sailing. They seem very put together and my girlfriend and I are going to take a 1 week vacation/training course in the British Virgin Islands. You get cruising training on things like provisioning, have a blast sailing a cat through the BVI's and you get your ASA certifications 101-104 and 114 - all from an ASA certified master instructor. We are planning on going November 1 through 7. We need more people to lower the cost and get the boat chartered. PM me if you're interested. You'd probably pay more in privates, and this would be only about four or five students. Plus it should be a blast.
