Training and Sailing around Australia

Hi Everyone!

I'm a very enthusiastic 24year old working over seas. I will be in Sydney Au in about 3-4 months. While I'm there I'm hoping to take a few sailing courses to get me up to the "competent crew" level. I am relishing the dream working my way around Australia as a sailor on small private yacht trips and other kinds of Maritime work. Tours, weekend trips etc. Some day I want to sail around the world... although that is a long time away.

So my 2 questions are... Does my immediate goal of getting some training and picking my way around Aus as a competent crew member sound feasible? and.. How easy is it in general to find work on a boat in which I would actually be doing some real sailing and not chipping paint and scrubbing toilets?

Thanks a ton!!
