UK Small Vessel Code (MGN 280) ???
Just had a conversation about the code with someone who bought a vessel coded for category 3 (60M from safe haven). His qualification is only for 20M from safe haven. He has been unable to determine whether he is OK to skipper this vessel in accordance with his 20M licence (providing he keeps within 20M) so to avoid any uncertainty has had the vessel re coded for 20M so the vessel and his licence are a perfect match.

Did he need to re code the vessel?

Can anyone make things any clearer?
