Diferent propellers on catamaran

One of my propellers on my Lagoon 410 is bent so i need to replace it. The original propellers are 2 blades 17 / 15. I found two propellers, one 17 / 15, ,but 3 blades and the other 17/16 2 bladed. Is it possible to use some of these or i need to continue searching for the same ad the original?

It is almost never true that a bent prop needs to be replaced. Truly amazing things can be fixed by a good prop shop. This is not a high tech operation, and can be found everywhere there are boats.

Seriously, fix it do not toss it.

probably ok with the 17/16 2 blade but a 3 blade 17/15 may be too much over pitched for the engine.

3 blades 17/12.5 would be roughly equal to a 2 blade 17/15

Thank you for the answers. Ufortunately here in B.V.I. because of the huricane last year everyboody are so busy that they don"t have time for repairing stufs, so i will need to take that 2 blades 17/16. But i will keep the old one and some better day or on some better plsce it could be repaired

There is a pretty good prop shop in Puerto Rico. Check with Chris at Commercial Divers at Village Cay and he can give you the contact info.

I have straightened a few props with wood blocks and gentle application of a nice hefty hammer. Surprisingly easy. Never broke one yet, knock on wood. If nobody is available to fix it professionally, before buying another, you might want to give it a go.

Contact in PR for fixing props Michael Laporte from Velocity Propeller 787-765-8281. It is always nice to have a spare.

Me too. And you have the great benefit of a second prop to use as your pattern. Your eye-balls are surprisingly good when comparing two things; it's much harder if you don't have one to copy. Chances are you'll get a better result than a miss matched new prop. The worst that can happen is that you have to buy the one you're planning on buying at any rate.
