ID what type of stern gland and make 1 inch shaft 13 HP direct drive picture

Italy looked online it Might be a marine craft deep sea?? Stern gland

It is about 6 inches long rubber tube with corrugation folds and large clamps both ends look To fill with water and no grease nipples

It doesn't look like a Grease type or a rubber grip type with requirement to tighten up

Probably installed in boat It may 2006 when engine was upgraded to 2ym15 yanmar

Also apart from ID how to service it??

There seems to be a tube Coming from the front of stern gland going up to join a exit for whale pump to send water in the stern gland out from boat ??

Thank

Looks like a PSS Shaft Seal (or one of their competitors). The black ring with the hose (that allows air to escape - some installations pump water down, but if the Whale is a bilge pump then it is just a place for any air in the gland to escape - mostly happens when launching) is carbon. The SS ring in front of it rotates against the carbon. Both are very flat, and the flat contact is how the seal is made. Servicing consists of keeping it clean and replacing the hose/bellows when it is worn out.

^What he said....additionally, the vent hose must extend above the waterline of the vessel so water can lubricate and cool the shaft packing while not getting into the boat.
