Re: Kanzaki Clutch box failure

What is the model # of your transmission? depending on model number, your questions will have different answers, there should be a stamp on the transmission, mine is on the upper back side of the bell housing, I can't see it, but could put my cell phone back there and take a picture

I was advised by Beta US to use Shell Rotella mono grade 30 viscosity oil. I van only find a Thai brand PTT of 30 weight oil with the correct API specification but that oil appears to have caused the glazing. Any other ideas? What does Yanmar recommend to use in their gear box which is the same identical gearbox used for the Beta 28 and it is made by Kanzaki as well.

Since the only spec is SAE 30 W, I think it's oil requirement is not very great, If be real surprised if the oil type caused the problem, of course that is just my opinion.
