Linear autopilot drive refresh

Hi all,

We're taking a long passage soon and I think it's time to renew my Raymarine linear type 1 autopilot drive.

The drive works very well, but it's 20+ years old and AFAIK it's never been refreshed/rebuilt. I'd like to replace the plastic gears inside with the more robust metal ones.

I found this kit online, but I am curious if anyone has other suggestions. It's $219.

I am also wondering if it's worth replacing the motor or anything else while I am in there. I'd love to hear the forum's thoughts.

Thanks!
