Re: please help me figure out this MD2B

I'm the follow voice invoice and look for something to replace it with. What you think about me putting a 1 cylinder engine in this 28 foot boat. Is that a good match for it?

I used to hear a old school trick with rusted motors was to dump coca cola in the cylinders.

My opinion better to sell if sized or use as a part motor. Would bring more trouble down the line if tried to rely on unless you did do a full rebuild.

If ya have a tank big enough, fill it with diesel and automatic tranny fluid half and half. Take off everything on the out side, put the whole engine in it an soak for a week or two! Then start looking for a replacement engine while it soaks! Cus it's more then likely a throw away now!! But ya never know the soak may free it up!!Just my 2 cents

Pardon me for reviving this old thread about an ancient motor. Can anybody tell me if the MD2B uses metric or imperial bolt sizes?

I had one... Still have the starter generator, filters, impellers, etc.
Plus the printed shop manual.

Interested? Make me an offer.

Manual has notes from my engine incidentally.

Looks like your question got side tracked a little, sorry I don't know the answer but have a bump to see if someone knows.
