Re: prop for perkins 4236?

Use Google to find the Michingan Wheels website, as well as the Campbell Sailer (sic) website. Fill out the questionnaires, and you'll get a response. A local propeller shop is also worth a try. There's as much art as science involved, so it's worth getting several recommendations. We just went through this and finished up with a Cambell Sailer a few months ago. It's an unusual prop, and we're quite happy with it. Details are on our blog toward the end of the engine replacement story.

Re: prop for perkins 4236?

We have a Perkins 4.236 with a Hurth HBW 360 A2 gearbox behind it. We're running a 2.22:1 reduction in the gearbox. The designer specified a 3 bladed Maxprop feathering propellor 22"in diameter with a pitch of 15".

We get 6.5-7 knots at 1600 rpm sipping about 4-5 litres/hr (1.1-1.3 gal/hr).
