Purchasing parts overseas

Has anyone had experience ordering parts from overseas? Canada does not have a Maxprop dealer and ordering direct from Italy offers some significant savings but I have not personally tried this yet. Any shipping logistics companies you'd recommend that would hold payment until the item is delivered?

PYI in Washington state will ship Maxprop parts overseas, even to Canada

Thanks. Unfortunately the US pricing is coming in at about 25% more than importing direct from Italy, so it is motivating to go this route - since there is no one local - PYI used to sell at our boat show but now that has stopped as well.
