Saildrive propeller

I am currently using lightweight 2 blade aluminum props on my yanmar sd20 saildrives. I would like to go to folders or feathering but am concerned about the much heavier prop. Would a heavier prop be a problem like shortening the life of the lower bearings? Any thoughts? Thanks

For complete confidence ask sail drive.
In short they folding props will not harm your drive. Out of balance is the main loading that causes problems. Many a sail drive has folding, feathering props. The Al. are cheap.

I replaced my aluminum fixed two blade with a folding Gori two blade and there is no issue.

We replaced our 2 blade aluminium props on our SD20s with Elich Radice 2 blade folders. 4 years and no problems. They are the cheapest folders by far and work well. Blades are quite heavy near the tips so open out quickly and effectively in reverse. Would love the Flex o Fold 3 blade folders for the extra blade area, but very much more expensive
