SD50 cone clutch lapping help - Panama

I've been reading through Dave Leu/Craig Muma guide to lapping the cones on a Yanmar SD40 / SD50 to solve the cone slipping problem. I'd like to think I can do myself but I don't think I can get all the tools to disassemble it. Does anyone know anyone in Panama that has gone through the process, preferably Caribbean side so that I have both drives for transit and don't have to reverse my way through!

Thanks

Re: SD50 cone clutch lapping help - Panama

I managed to find some great expertise here in Panama. Ended up using Kenneth Breazeale who has done the lapping process quite a few times. He ran me through the process in quite some detail so I can do it myself in future. Hardest part for us was undoing the nut that holds the clutch assembly together. To grip the spline we used some aluminium pieces and a vice to clamp it hard. We also used back the same nut with some loctite. I can highly recommend Kenneth for any diesel work here in Panama. bocassolar@gmail.com
