Trojan's are only good for one time use.

I'm with you on this. We have a Hundested variable pitch prop with pitch control crank in the cockpit. To get to a mechanical seal the boat must come out of the water. The 3-blade needs to be disassembled. The control shaft needs to be unscrewed (count the turns) from the transmission and pulled out through the prop shaft. The coupling needs to be broken and the shaft pulled back.

Packing = easy. I too change out the packing at sea - no problem.
