Volvo Penta MD2B RB Transmission WANTED

Greeting all - I am a newbie here and have an older Volvo Penta MD2B but it has a very rare gearbox (Type MS) with a reduction ration of 3.42:1 and I am trying to locate the "normal" one (Type RB) with a ratio of 1.87:1. Supposedly the MS can be fitted out with internal gears to change it to 1.91:1, so that would work too. Any ideas?? Thanks =:>

Taipan 28! Great boat. I had a MD1B on my Taipan. not sure I can help on your immediate problem, but I know a fair amount about Taipan 28s and know several owners of them in Hong Kong area.

Hi if you still haven't found a gearbox you can try:
Find your boat bit here
Its "Reverse Gear type MS gearbox ratio 1.91:1 for a MD2B
