Water sludge removal

Over the winter my cover was torn allowing rain water into the bilge which got into the transmission. Nothing has been run so this should be limited to the sump.
I have the milkshake white goo in the gear box and I'm trying to remove it before running anything. It's a paragon 23L gear. I have filled and removed fluid several times and yesterday filled and added a can of seafoam transmission treatment which is sitting in the gear presently.
Anyone face this problem? Any solvent I can use to dissolve the goo and pump it out? I really dont want to run the gear and pump this throughout the system so I'm trying to remove as much as possible while on the hard.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Water sludge removal

Once you've got most of it out, I'd just do a couple of brief runs (a couple minutes max) to stir things up, then change the fluid after each one. Once it comes out clean, you should be ok. Unfortunately, it's unlikely that you'll get all of it out without running the thing.
