Re: Adding water cooling to Adler Barbour Supercold Machine

i bought the super cold machine just because i could add water cooling if i needed it. as it turned out, i don't need it; wish i had used the extra money to buy the larger condensor box instead. but all is not lost. the circuit that starts the pump is now being used to start a secondary muffin fan, which i may or may not need.

we have a 6cf box, although i found it's much too large for our purposes so i filled the bottom of the box with removeable insulation boards and cut it to about 3.5cf. it runs about 30-40 amps a day now, in florida and the bahamas.

the best thing you can do, if you haven't already done it, is to provide a fan in the fridge itself to circulate air around the box, imho.

Re: Adding water cooling to Adler Barbour Supercold Machine

My box is tiny due to the size of the space I had to work with. About 2.5 cu.ft. Its cold here now and is using 14 amps a day. In the summer when the cabin was 80F, about 20 amps. No doubt in the tropics 25 amps. But I get that much back with solar in one hour.

Re: Adding water cooling to Adler Barbour Supercold Machine

The amps consumed by the pump often exceed the additional running time amps for the air-cooled units.
