Re: Any ideas about how i can add hot water?

tariffs on importing Chinese

think hitting companies hard, but individuals self-importing not yet so much

And I guess the Eberspaecher question's a joke ?

No idea on the "BAD BOYS playing with our brains" ???[emoji2957]

I can't sit through videos like that if someone could post a written summary I'm sure many not just me will be grateful, save thousands of man hours

Re: Any ideas about how i can add hot water?

Hahaha, maybe You guys need some new glasses

Look at the Brand Name CNDE

CN = CHINA
DE = Germany

If You wanna save some money do the same then me... ?
HAVE AN EXTRA BEER

Well,.....

Now in serious, First time I head of the hydronic heaters was in relation with engine preheating and the names Ebersbaecher and Webasto were big names but then Mammy Merkel opened up the doors to China with the special economic trade zones where You didnīt have to pay taxes, +++ ETC
But the Chinese were slick and in exchange this was only posible whereby the Chinese company had a minimum of 51% of the company shares. So now what happened to all the property rights/patents of the technology transfer ?

As to quality.
Well, they not only manufactured there. By biting the bait they also sold out the patents to manufacture machines that can manufacture machines.

Of course there is still a link missing to make it LOOK perfect.
CE companies were allowed to BRAND with a sticker MADE IN CE as long as more then 20% of the value was manufactured in the CE

Of course nobody asked about the collateral damage.
They were all so busy collecting golden eggs and hide them in their basket.
So now there is a trade war. Is it possible that the same was also happening in the USA.
How about all the Wall Marts and Amazones, the big ones and the small ones.
Who made it posible at the time and who is picking up the bits and pieces today ?
Well, there was some good news yesterday. This year there will be a change in the financial industry and foreign companies donīt need the Chinese partner anymore to do business. Haha, looks like the red dragon with depth of more then 200% of GDP needs a little of a healing green injection.

Well, before the water gets too hot letīs get back to the boat.
Mmm, Yummy, feels more cozy everyday
A little more tweeking with the induction cookers and I believe my propane bottles will fly to the junk yard with super sonic speed.

The rest I leave up to Your imagination.

One little caveat there is no tariff on any shipment that is valued at under 1,000 usd.

I import a lot of small parts for use on customer repair and installation.

Not to mention my personal projects .
That's how I am obtaining 240ah house bank Lfp for under 600 all in .

Re: Any ideas about how i can add hot water?

Right for all those suggesting solar power
Here is a photo of a modern solar energy system, fully and professionally installed and working on a house roof and the amount of Energy it has Created / Saved in the last 28 Days
Oh by the way it’s capable of delivering 4 KW

So I am guessing it’s been a little overcast in the last month!
That should be enough power to get my Battery car off the drive at least before it needs recharging!

Sorry I should of stated that this is the excess energy as there is a standing load of 2 elderly people which cannot amount to very much and that although variable it’s very low., but the worst solar performance from the system since it was fitted

Well, that definitely is no cruising ground for the solar panel cruisers and room savings is BIG "0"

I would speculate a wind gen might be much better for the savings account
Those wind gens many times get undervalued but letīs asume production is just 5 amp x 12 V x 24 hours = 1440 Watt/Day.

I would estimate 5 amps for a decent wind gen is realistic and not too much to ask. At their usual 400W they all promise a lot more. I could imagine in the UK the wind might be a more reliable then the sun

You want someone to spend their time to summarize a video you don't want to spend your time to watch?
Nice work.

No harm in asking, I do it all the time for those I consider valuable enough.

No better way to learn something, and one person doing so helps hundreds of others,

IMO the whole point of participating in communities like this

Yes, carrying and handling those nasty and heavy propane tanks is really a pain in the rear, but for cooking I donīt see much option for the characteristics of Your boat. Unfortunately the Origo alcohole stoves are harder to come by every day.
For heating fridge and hot water on a boat they are not the prefered choice anyway for many other reasons. Diesel is still the energy with the highest density and the most easy to come by and to handle and You have plenty on board already anyway. For heating itīs also much better using the cheap Chinese Diesel heater then propane. Propane heating results in lotīs of humidity while those Diesel heaters produce good airflow.

So now there is also a more economic Hydronic heater using fluid.

Well in Your case my prefered choice would be the air heater withe the heat exchanger to produce hot water. Itīs less wait and I can have both a heater and hot water in one unit.
About the possible undesirable hot air in summertime while making hot water ?
Adding another EGR to the HOT AIR outlet of the heater should bring the temperature down considerable
In summertime the water gets hot faster and in winter time You just switch off the coolant pump for using as a heater.
Have a close look at the videos from David about the tests with EGR. What I have not talked about yet.
You will need a calorifier like the ISOTEMP
https://www.indelwebastomarine.com/u...water-heaters/

As You can observe the smallest one with 4 gal of water already has a dry weight of 23 Lbs + the weight of water 14,4 L
The calorifier must be full when operating for hot water.
https://www.indelwebastomarine.com/u...-heaters/slim/

Yes, You could add a connection to the coolant circuit of the engine and that would also be more efficient and add a second source for heating water but on the flip side it could complicate draining all the water from the system to have a lighter boat and venting the system before using hot water.
