best bench top material for sea going yacht - floor vinyl?

guys thanks for all of the reply's,

I have gone with floor vinyl stuck straight over the old Formosa. It looks a treat for practicality. Non slip. I need to be carefully of putting hot stuff on it and need to use a cutting board but my laptop with open cpn stays on the bench now (most of the time)

I used kwik grip glue and found it did make for a slightly uneven surface and in two spots it seemed to melt through the surface and go a little wrinkly but very minimal.

Will post a photo when can.

I just did a google search of “Tespa” and came up with nothing related to a planar synthetic building material.
Could you check spelling, alternate names, etc?
Sounds like a good possibility for marine interior construction and repair.
