The poop bowl. If it was the other way, blowing in you will get to enjoy the special ambience of the contents.

Did you check with Airhead? I wonder if everyone puts TP in it. I plan on getting an Airhead. I have a Raritan now and don't allow any TP or wipes down it, they go in the trash and I will treat Airhead the same way.

absolutely incorrect..i've installed a new fan on mine after original crapped out..makes sense that you don't want moisture to hit fan on way out..that would deteriorate the motor

It is called an extraction fan. In order to stop this sh— storm, I have a link to the installation. Correct operation is noted if the tissue is sucked into the fitting from inside of the boat. The link and a picture cut from their installation video showing the tissue getting sucked in are both below.

If all else fails, read the instructions.

We have stopped putting paper or any other foreign material in all of our heads. This includes the composting head. The joker valves in the vacuflush are tiny. It’s way easier to handle the paper separately than to do a Ralph Kramden under way or anywhere.

Which works exactly the same way, as per their website, it draws air through the head and vents it to the exterior.

Natures ahead official installation instructions. Note also the page image included.

The fan must suck out or your boat will stink like a toilet.

Oh, and what odds would they be

At around 1.25 in the video you will see that the only connection is a small vent hose that draughts the air to the outside..

You may have installed a fan in a way that reverses the designed airflow however that is not how it is intended to be installed.

Re: Composting Toilet (AirHead) going sour after 5 years

i must have an earlier unit cause it's opposite of what is listed.. sorry for rant and i'll call them in the am to verify

was a bit skeptical bout buying used but listed as perfect so took a shot..
at 300 was a steal.. maybe the original owner reversed the intake and output tubes.. still haven't used it and from what i'm hearing maybe it's a good thing it's still unused. thanx to all

ps you guys can go ahead and beat me up now

That may well be the power connection for the inbuilt fan but the fan is designed to draw air through the head to the outside.
