You would be welcome Mike - but only the aft head (fwd is just for us )

Strange thing - standard on our boat, you got an electric head fwd with holding - aft, you got a pump toilet with no holding (I think that's the way it was, might have back to front - that was back in 2011 ...).
We fixed that in the options list very quickly.

Other point to make for those who are looking to buy new, or upgrade a wet system, the very few dollars difference between a manual and an electric toilet (less than 50 from memory), is in my view well worth it. Manual pumps can block with too much paper etc. Electric toilets chew through as much paper as you want to throw at them.

Re: Composting toilets or wet sewage systems

Living in Florida with a Nature's Head, from time to time I've experienced the "bug" problem. Occasionally, it's been severe with thousands of the little critters appearing all over my boat.

Bug spray didn't work. Diatomaceous earth was of no help.

I called the folks at Nature's Head and was advised to use a product called Gnatrol. The concentrated product is diluted with one or two teaspoons full per gallon of water. Then a few ounces of the diluted mixture is poured into the head and mixed.

Works like a charm. Bug problem resolved.

Thanks for the tip Seighlor. Never heard of this stuff before. Nice that it is an “organic” pesticide.
