Danfoss Secop Controllers Failure Rate

Wanted to get some opinions on the Secop Freezer/Fridge Control Module failure rates by the group. I have recently had a Secop 101N0212 fail on my freezer (it was less than 6 months old) and a Secop 101N0510 fail on the fridge and this unit was about 7 months old. Both units were bought new and are independent of each other…so one failure shouldn’t have anything to do with the other.

I learned from SoCal Marine the units really aren’t warrantied, but curious if others have had such failure rates. I replaced the 510 and its up and running for about a month. I need to replace the 210 when Im back at the dock.

Questions:
1) Do these control units fail frequently?
2) I will carry spares from now on, but seems like they should last at least a year. Are there any other companies that make these that are bettte quality or fail less often?
3) Anyone else have failures in the first year on new units?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Re: Danfoss Secop Controllers Failure Rate

I've had a few year old 101N0510 fail on me a couple of years ago, but that's the only failure I've experienced with them in quite a few fridges I've been around.
