Electric toilet

My husband is threatening to take our electric toilet out but I like it. We have a manual one as well which he can use. But we have been away from our yacht for 2.5 years with covid and there is lots I have forgotten. It flushes fine etc but water seeps back in about 6 inches in the bottom of the bowl. Is this normal for electric toilets?

Re: Electric toilet

Likely needs a new joker valve. Cheap and fairly easy to replace.

^^^ This. Manual toilets develop the same problem.

I'm guessing you're referring to my reply to WindintheWillows. If that doesn't give you the information you need, you're welcome to contact me directly. Systems that have been sitting dry for 2+ years are likely to need a bit more than just new joker valves.

Re: Electric toilet

I find joker valves even new do not prevent liquid back flowing. I have a 1 metre riser To the holding tank and any column of liquid which remains in it will get by the joker valve over a few hours.

The key is to clear the riser by pumping air in after the liquid is gone from the bowl
