Faucet connectors on the hose?

I ordered some new faucets from Amazon...installed em, and then later on also installed barb-fittings with 3/8 NPT male connector....it said 3/8 in the manual...as far I could see, but that did not fit and was way to big..

My question is....what is typical standard on those connectors installed on the hoses on a faucet?

Re: Faucet connectors on the hose?

The standard for all faucets is usually 1/2" npt. Can you link to the faucet that you bought?

Re: Faucet connectors on the hose?

Can it be 1/4 NPT which equals about half inch (not to mixed up with 1/2 NPT ?

Cause when measuring with the caliper on the inside diameter of the female connector...I get about 13mm.

Re: Faucet connectors on the hose?

1/2' NPT is sort of a misnomer. The 1/2" is the inside diameter of 1/2" iron pipe. The lavatory faucet that you bought says it uses 3/8" compression threads which are different from 3/8 NPT (pipe) threads. Confusing?

Buy sink supply valves 1/2" fip, 3/8" compression. Buy Barbed adaptors barb x 1/2"mip. And some teflon tape. As bonus you can ue the valves to regulate water pressure at the sink for water conservation.
