Re: Fresh Water Tank / Paint

Ariose, did you hear anything back from Sherman Williams regarding potable water safe linings?

Re: Fresh Water Tank / Paint

Hi Natpowning.
Looks like I forgot to close off that thread - apologies.

I was never able to get a response from Sherwin-Williams on their paint despite several attempts. I ended up scrapping the integral tank option, in part because of not being able to get info to resolve safety concerns when using the paint in such a small volume of water, in part because of cost of paint, and mainly, because we were running out of time before we were heading out cruising, so I just went with the "easy" option of flexible water bladders.

Hope that helps.

Re: Fresh Water Tank / Paint

FWIW, here's a doc of my integral tank build from a few years ago. I consider it one of the best things I've done to the boat. Hopefully it uploads..

Re: Fresh Water Tank / Paint

The document did upload fine. I skimmed it quickly - wow - you did a nice job on the tanks! I'll file it to review more carefully if/when I decide to tackle it again. For now, integral tanks are on the "someday" list.
Thanks so much for sharing.
