gas valve breaker tripping

the gas valve breaker is tripping and I am thinking it is probably the solenoid. The solenoid is very hot to touch!! Is my thoughts valid?

When it starts hummming, then you use it to heat your coffee.

I tried and the coffee pot would not sit on it well enough! So I went to the trusty West and after depositing $100. I now have nice hot coffee this morning!
Thanks for the input
