Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

The sink in my forward head has a faucet which flows too close to the edge. You can barely get your hands under the water! I put one of those adjustable aerators on it but it doesn't help much.

The problem is, it's a wet head so I need to use a diverter faucet for the shower. All the ones I've seen are equally short. What I'd really like is a "high arch" faucet, but anything which reaches a little farther into the sink would be welcome.

Any suggestions?

Take a look at Scandvik.

Thanks, nice stuff, but I didn't see a diverter. I don't really have the option to use a combination fixture (the kind where the faucet pulls out to become a shower head.)

You might sort thru stuff from Chicago.
An abundance of product but expensive, although anything they make will last virtually forever.

Any kitchen faucet with a sprayer provision should do the trick. Or you could tee the lines before the faucet and install a separate shower mixer to feed the showerhead.

Re: Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

I haven't seen any RV or marine fixtures in the Chicago product line. I don't think the diverter for a kitchen faucet would work. Those "divert" whenever the sprayer button is pushed. There's no button on the shower head, so it would be on all the time. I could add an on-off valve, but it would be cumbersome at best.

I'd rather not re-do the plumbing. The bulkhead is shared with the saloon so there's no wall cavity to run plumbing through. Surface-mounted pipes and fixtures would be the only option.

I've seen the same issue in RVs and even small bathrooms on land. Maybe I'm the only one who wants the water a bit more accessible than when it's right at the edge of the sink. I'm almost ready to fabricate a wedge-shaped fairing block for under the fixture, so at least the water shoots out a bit instead of straight down.

Something like this would possibly suit and looks to be direct replacement.

Re: Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

Ah, I believe that the OP wants a faucet that has the ability to divert the flow to a "separate" shower head, not one that uses a "pull out" shower head as the spout.
Perhaps like this?

Maybe something like

Assuming we’re talking about fresh water, maybe avoid “marine” and look at deck mount tub faucets which typically come with diverter valves.

Re: Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

Many domestic tub faucets have a diverter like you are describing. Perhaps you could find something along the lines of a short tub valve.

Re: Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

Just use a normal tap and add a separate shower head connected with a y-fitting to the existing hose.

Correct. But your link didn't work.

Right, but with a spout that's long enough to reach beyond the edge of the sink. That one looks about the same length as what I have. I think some RV sinks have the holes for the pipes built into the sink itself. Mine have to in the countertop, putting the spout closer to the edge.

Right, but they are designed to mount on the wall. This mounts on the countertop. There are high-end home tub faucets which mount next to the tub, but those don't usually have diverters. That's only for us low-life boaters and RV'ers.

Why can’t you use the pull out faucets? Just curious.

And thus the specification of “deck mount”

Re: Good Sink Faucet with Diverter

The shower area is far enough away from the sink that I need an extra-long hose on it. The pull-out ones won't reach. The deck mounted ones linked above are 6" on center - tub size - not the usual 4" bathroom/RV/boat size. I'm less concerned about aesthetics, but it is a factor. Also, chrome has no place on a saltwater boat.

I think this is confirmation that what I'm looking for doesn't exist. I'll have to get creative.
