Question Groco Paragon Jr Fresh Water Pressure Pump

Our boat came with the 1984 version of the Paragon Jr. water pump which I've maintained/upgraded until now. The motor is at the end of its useful life, the pump needs another overhaul as well, etc. So I'm contemplating a replacement, either with a current Paragon Jr ($$$) or something else. I should add that I need relatively stable pressures as I have a flash hot water heater that relies on a pressure differential for operation. Suggestions?

Thanks!
Doug

I am also interested to hear if anyone has experience with the paragon JR pump.

The other option I’m looking at is the belt driven diaphragm pump by jabsco. I have a bilge version of this and so far has worked quite well.

A digital pressure switch will allow programing any pressure on and off. You just bypass the pumps built in pressure switch. That means any reliable pump that suits you will work. Switch shown about $30 on eBay. They come in 12v DC to 240v AC. (made in China)

The belt driven diaphragm pumps are excellent, very long lasting, I had two that I gave away and probably shouldn’t have.
However they very very much pulsate, I doubt that would affect your water heater, but you will feel each pump stoke the diaphragm makes.

An accumulator would likely dampen this a lot if it was big enough.
