Head Identification

I'm having trouble identifying this head?
Not a Groco.
Can't find a picture of a RM69 with this base although the pump bolt pattern looks correct.
Was told it could be an old Jabsco ?
I think it's original to the boat which is a Gulf 29 1984.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you
Doug

Let me see a picture that shows the entire top of the toilet's PUMP.

Re: Head Identification

This is the best picture I have right now. I will be at the boat and removing the Head tomorrow.

Thank you

Re: Head Identification

You shouldn't have to remove it just to get a photo of the top of the pump. Lifting the shower seat should be all that's necessary.

Re: Head Identification

Pretty sure it’s a very old Jabsco. The base of the pump is held down by three screws like the old Jabsco’s did. The new ones have four screws and a different handle.
Peggie has a contact at Jabsco. I’m sure if you sent him the photo he could give you more information.

Head Identification

Doesn’t look like a jabsco to me. I have versions going back to 1983 and they are all the similar familiar jabsco pattern.

Could be an old RM 69 type unit.

Paul Campagna is Jabsco's toilet guru...

But if it's that old, he'd be better off just replacing the pump 'cuz at the very least it'll need a "service kit" (that may no longer be available for older models), which has a price tag of about 80-85% of the price of a new pump.

Re: Head Identification

If it's not a Jabsco it may be a Wilcox-Crittenden Headmate

Re: Head Identification

If it's not a Headmate, and if it's still original to the boat, there's only one possibility left: a SeaLand 751 or 752, which was discontinued in the late '80s. I don't have a photo of it.

Bottom line: no service kits or parts have been available for either toilet for years...you need a new toilet.

That sums it up. No matter what it is, he needs to replace it.
It’s not a Headmate. The toilet in the picture only has three screws mounting the pump to the base. The Headmate has four.

Re: Head Identification

Here are the pictures. Removed it for R/R.
I think after getting a close look it's an RM69?
The kits are available for the pump but not in the USA, or I just haven't found a supplier yet. My biggest concern would be the spud on the back of the bowl. Hose configuration would change with a new toilet but i'll probable need to replace them all anyway.
Thank you for your help

Re: Head Identification

Here's the link to the current model of the RM69 https://www.rm69.nl/marine-toilet-sealock/ The photo may not be much help but the exploded drawing should be.

Re: Head Identification

Are you sure it’s not a Groco? That pump handle and silver sticker sure looks a lot like the old Groco hf I removed from my boat.

Re: Head Identification

It is an old Brydon Boy / Jabsco toilet. Jabsco purchased the Brydon Boy toilet and produced it from the Seventies until the mid eighties. It is the only toilet I’ve ever seen with that mounting hole pattern on the cylinder base. Two screws on one side and one hole on the other. There are no parts available. I think the part number was 59128.

Re: Head Identification

Thank you for all the support and information. After getting the toilet apart I found numerous cracks in the base.
I'm still not sure if it is an rm69 could very well be an old Jabasco as suggested.
I like to rebuild instead of replace but in this case the logical thing to do is replace.
Thanks again for everyone's input.
