Re: Help: Newport 400 MKII leaking

I'm happy to report that the repair has been successful and that the watermaker has been running for 3 hours without issues.

Huge thanks to Jonathan Halden of Halden Marine Service in Fort Lauderdale for providing the parts in an expedite way.

Jonathan is very active on the Cruisers Forum and he has a proven record of helping the community with his expertise and services.

This repair wouldn't have happen without him.

Because I struggled a lot trying to find some instructional videos or tutorials on how to replace the cylinder, I put together this video hoping it will help others with my same problem or a similar one.

Re: Help: Newport 400 MKII leaking

I have to admit that I actually learned something watching your video. The rolling of the Clark pump while still attached to the membrane is great. Usually I remove the SS tubing to work on a Clark pump. The issue here is that if you remove the two SS tubes it's tough to re-align them and still be able to tighten down all the fittings. I'll be recommending this method to customers that are doing this for the first time. Thanks for the great video.
