Roy,
How does the epoxy ply hold up to odor permutation? I had a good quality plastic tank at one time but after several years it really stated to smell bad. I took it out, cleaned it up, filled it with bleach, and let it sit out in the sun for a few weeks. It still stunk up the boat. I think the plywood tank is my next option.

So far, the epoxy/plywood combination has held up thirty years for diesel, and fifteen years for sewage. The one area I have decided NOT to use it is for water tanks, believing that water will absorb some of the nasty things that could ruin my day. For water I use polyethylene tanks. For the first two, no smells, no penetration of the barrier coat, no deterioration of the contact coat. And, they are very easy to fabricate.
