Smelly water from (grey) tank

Make sure the tank is made from food grade Polyethylene (in the US FDA-approved). If not throw out whatever is installed an replace. If the resin is wrong, you will never get the smell away.

Fuel...Yes

BTW I don't DRINK anybody's boat water....even my own

As a pain in the keester it is I only drink bottled water
or water from gallon jugs......Boat water is last resort

My innards thank me for it
I have food grade stainless water tanks and I do drink the water on my boat. I also filter all teh water twice and my drinking water a third time.

I would be very suspicious of any black plastic as it will off gas a long time and the chemicals could be carcinagenic. Be careful.
