Looking for GROCO SVS-1000 or SV-1000

I am in need of parts for GROCO SVS-1000 (or SV-1000) or the complete unit (secock-strainer combination or seacock alone). Parts are no longer available from GROCO, so I am hoping to find in the community.

Anyone able to supply either or suggest a source please advise. Specifically, I need the rubber plug and disc, but am prepared to purchase a complete unit.

Welcome to the forum, Luis.

That's frustrating. The old turn and tighten units are pretty and a shame to abandon. It looks as though unless there is one in someone's shop, you'll have to replace the seacock part with a Groco ball valve. I gather that the plug is beyond repair?

Finding parts for those is pretty tough. I've got a bunch on my boat still and have decided at this point that I'll need to start replacing them with something new / different.

Re: Looking for GROCO SVS-1000 or SV-1000

Thank you both (tkeithlu & rslifkin) . . . I have had 40 years of great service from mine and was shocked to see one fail just yesterday.

rslifkin, my SVS-1000 has Chris-Craft raised letters on the top! If you decide to change out, can you let me know and I can but the unit or the parts I need. If you are out of the water and don't mind starting your replacement process, please let me know??!! Thanks!

I may be replacing a couple of my units over this next winter, but nothing right now. Size-wise, I only have SVS-750 and 1250s though, no 1000s.

Out of curiosity, which specific parts are you looking for?

Have you talked to Groco to confirm what they've got on hand? I know they don't have the rubber plugs anymore, but last I knew, at least certain other parts were still available. Unfortunately, nobody makes aftermarket rubber plugs either from what I know.

Yes . . . GROCO no longer stocks most of the parts. They still offer some, but only because they are used in new products. They do not have any remaining inventory, so I am searching the web (eBay) and stores that have used items or consignment stuff. Thanks again!

I have a new old stock groco Sv 1000 1” sea valve. It has never been used or taken apart. It operates smoothly and the rubber plug has been kept unloaded and is in great shape. If interested give me a shout. Bob Sundman 860-535-0242

PS:I’m a new member and just saw your listing about the sv1000 valve. I’m downsizing a lot of my boating stuff and have a lot of items I need to offload.
