I remember a thread here on CF a while back where a newly purchased boat was lost in some insanely cold climate. They lost battery power and couldn't fire up the gas heating or cooking. I can't remember the details but they ended up abandoning ship and getting airlifted off.

It was a salient caution.

Thankfully, if I have a solenoid fail I have all the tools to remove it and go direct. Plus spare regs, gas tape etc.

OK, that's worth knowing. Perhaps my one-year failure was an anomaly.
