Macerator

When I run the Macerator I can hear noise but nothing comes out is it possible when you hear it running that it is not pumping properly, or could there be a blockage. Never had a problem with theses aperatus. Any suggestions

Re: Macerator

If you are sure the thru-hull is open there is probably blockage in the hoses connected to the pump. There's a hard mineral build up inside the hoses that require periodic replacement. Same for any wyes or such in the lines.

Re: Macerator

Do you have a through-hull closed or a Y-valve in the wrong position? Is there sufficient venting to allow air in to the tank to replace the volume of material the macerator is trying to remove? Could be a blockage, or a pump that is simply full of mineral buildup and jammed.
