New seacocks with old thruhulls?

We're hauling the boat out soon to tackle some projects, one of which is replacing our old Groco SV seacocks and their backing plates. I like this design a lot, but since they stopped making them in 1993, it's very difficult to find parts for them. They are also quite crusty and difficult to operate these days (I mean, they are 40+ years old).

I'm trying to decide if I want to replace them with Groco BV valves, or composite TruDesign valves. The Groco BV valves will end up costing about 2x more, but they would theoretically be compatible with the our existing thruhulls. The TruDesign valves will need to new thruhulls, which potentially amounts to a lot more work depending on how hard the old ones are to remove.

Is there any reason I can't/shouldn't use my old thruhulls with new valves? This is assuming there in good condition.

Use these with the thru hulls you have, then you can use the ball valve of your choice.
It's the cat's meow, valve goes bad, no problem, just change it out.
