New water tank on cape dory 28

hey guys!

My cd28 comes with 20gal water tank below v-berth which in dont find sufficient.

So intened to install second one in the bilge area. Would you recommend it or not? There seems to enough space for 15-20gal of water. I think it could affect boat stability, but perhaps in a good way?

Some cd28 come with 2 tanks below setees in the saloon but i find this space usefull for stowage.

Revert back to the original plans. Place a 30 gallon tank under each settee piped to a manifold which allows you to choose which tank to feed from and isolate the remaining tank so you can monitor your consumption and have an emergency reserve. You have plenty of stowage elsewhere. If you decide to make the tanks smaller you will gain storage under the settee's. You have to decide what is more important to you. You have a great boat. Very seaworthy and well built for a production boat, but I am very biased.

Jim, thanks for your point. But di you think is it bad idea to install a tank in the bilge area? Would like o hear your opinion.
