And you get all the minerals you need from eating.

Have a Specta Ventura 150D. Makes a little over 7 gal per hour on 8 amps. Run it in the afternoon off the solar panels when battery bank typical full. Current essentially goes from solar controller direct to watermaker load. We consume about 10-12 gal per day for the two of us drinking, washing dishes, bathing. If we have a rough crossing, i will use fresh water to wash the boat. Nothing nicer than walking on clean decks. The anchor chain gets rinsed as well. We never have to move for sole purpose of getting water, and we never haul jugs. We dont buy fuel often as we are a sailboat, and generally dont do marinas. Its an expensive unit, but this is second boat its been on as we removed it from previous boat. Yes, there is no monetary payout for a WM. But not sure any boat can be financially justified! ;-)
