Before crossing the Pacific, we bought two five gallon collapsing buckets used for horses from Outfitters Supply, Columbia Falls, MT. Unfortunately, it appears they don't sell the larger 5 gallon size anymore, but if you can find something similar, these are a great space-saving item for a cruising boat (we use them for lots of tasks). For laundry: soak clothes overnight with small amount of detergent, next morning do the grape-stomping routine for a bit, drain, rinse, wring out and hang. Easy!
